Pyramid Publications was created via a 1961 merger of Pyramid Books, Inc., and Almat Publishing Corp (see Pyramid Publications Makes Public Stock Offering, PW, Apr. 16, 1962, at 72-73). Pyramid Books is its most famous imprint (currently known as Jove Books, a name adopted by Harcourt Brace in 1974 upon purchase of the line). Other imprints included Royal Books (a line for women readers) and Worlds of Science, a science-centered paperback reprint line.
